Caitlin & Jacob
Caitlin – I worked with my mom & dad (Paul & Crystal Welch) at the Crown Trophy in Flowood, Mississippi as a full-time employee/manager for about 10 years (as a trophy builder my whole life lol) Jacob – Worked as an air machine technician for a company called CSC Works.
We purchased our store from David Searles, who owned this location for roughly 20 years. I’ve known David since I was a kid and my parents first opened their store, around the same time in Mississippi. Jacob was ready for a career change, and I had a good bit of experience working at a Crown Trophy, so when David was ready to sell, we decided to become owners! In my opinion, we get to have it all! Be our own bosses, have the nights and weekends off to spend with our kids, set our own hours, work hard & feel good about the work we are doing. Crown has such an awesome support network & so many resources. It makes it a little easier to run a business & learn how to be business owners. We both feel so lucky to have this opportunity! Being in business with my parents and now for ourselves is such a rewarding experience.
We live in a smaller city called Central, which is about 15 miles North of Baton Rouge. It takes us roughly 25-35 minutes to commute.
I was born in Oklahoma, but moved to Mississippi when I was 5 years old. Jacob was born in New York and moved to Mississippi when he was 8 years old.
We love to be outdoors and try to get the kids outside as much as possible. We like to play disc golf, go camping & fishing. Jacob & I love to play board games with friends and family. We both dabble in different crafts; painting miniatures, woodworking, crocheting, and baking (this is just the tip of the iceberg) Jack of all trades, masters of none.
Usually, we are in the back yard with our 3 year old, playing around! Whenever the opportunity presents itself, we venture into Baton Rouge proper or drive a little ways to other cities, to soak up some Louisiana culture since we are relatively new to the state.
I graduated from Hinds Community College in 2015 with my Associates degree Jacob Graduated from Southern Mississippi University in 2014 with a Bachelors.
